It started with the hope that if people saw solar power at work on a full production stage, they would be inspired. They were! It continued with the hope that workshops and exhibits could change people’s lives. They did!
The Solarfest Center will continue to feed hope with our focus on demonstrating renewable energy, conservation, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable living in engaging and fun ways!
2024 was a big year at the farm in Brandon. Thoughtful, generous, and dedicated volunteers have made incredible progress turning the 84-acre complex into a permanent home for vibrant music, art, and hands-on education at this beautiful spot nestled between the Taconic and Green Mountains.
Check out the pictures and plans on the website to see the latest progress, with barn renovations, performance stages, workshop spaces, and grounds prep for the festival relaunch in 2025.
The buildings area has had a wide variety of improvements to preserve our landmark silos and barns, with plans for adding bioswales, plantings, and holding ponds to improve drainage and protect water quality. Outside the building zone, the new 125 kW community solar array was approved for construction in the spring, while the festival fields will include two stages and dedicated areas for picnicking, workshops & exhibits, kids’ activities, camping, hiking & biking trails, plus animal grazing, bird, bats & bee habitat, and community gardens.
Be part of the growth, for today and tomorrow
SolarFest has remained strong for 30 years because of people like you who participate as volunteers, artists, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, performers, donors, and supporters. We hope you will register as a volunteer to be part of the planning or running of the 2025 festival.
Also, we could use your financial help to grow the Solarfest Center. Please look over the plans and make a donation or become a sponsor.
